According to the decision of Georgian Government, restaurants and all entertainment facilities will be closed at 10 pm in Tbilisi and Imereti.
Shota Burjanadze, one of the founders of Georgian Restaurateurs Association, told BM.GE that, some restaurants might stop operating as a result of the government’s decision.
According to him, Georgian traditional restaurants, which receive guests mainly in the evening, will stop operating due to reduced working hours.
"Unfortunately, this decision will have a negative impact on the field and employees. Some restaurants will stop operating due to reduced working hours, otherwise they will reduce employees’ wages or staff number, as there will not be demand. In addition, if restaurants are closed for a period of time, they will be unable to pay rent and bank liabilities. Large number of existing restaurants that operate today will simply be closed due to these small decisions, ”Shota Burjanadze explained.
