The South Caucasus Railway Company (SCR), the concessionaire of Armenian Railways, has summarized the results of the 2024 summer passenger transport season.
According to the SCR press service, 219,900 passengers were transported from June to September, marking a 2.8% increase compared to the same period last year.
In international routes, 29,500 people traveled on the Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan and Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan trains. Suburban routes served 190,400 passengers during the same period.
The seasonal Yerevan-Shorzha-Yerevan electric train was particularly popular, with 7,600 passengers using the service.
According to the press service, the start of the 2024 summer season was affected by the destruction of railway infrastructure in northern Armenia due to spring floods, leading to a decline in demand for international routes in June.
As of October 1, regular service on the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan route has resumed. Passengers can find information on ticket purchases and prices on the company's official website, www.railway.am.
