Georgian chocolate box manufacturer Spacebox expects to increase sales three folds this December. Founder Anuka Kakabadze told BM.GE that the New Year season has begun with a sharp surge in demand, with both corporate and retail pre-orders already underway.
To meet rising interest, the company has launched two new products: the 47-GEL “Space Santa” box and a 28-GEL Christmas mini-box, expanding its offering to nine designs in total. Kakabadze says the update was driven by growing demand and customers’ desire for fresh holiday collections: “We had been selling the same Christmas box for three years, it was time for a change.”
Unlike last year, when corporate demand was notably weak, businesses began preparing gifts much earlier this season. Spacebox started receiving bookings as early as September. “The mood is completely different this year. Companies and retail customers are planning ahead, and we already have advance orders. We expect results to increase at least three to four times,” Kakabadze noted.
Spacebox has adjusted the prices of several boxes by about 3% due to higher raw material costs. “Last December, imported raw materials became more expensive, but we didn’t change prices because sales had dropped and we were practically bankrupt. This year, the adjustment was necessary, we also need to survive,” Kakabadze added.
