We, the management of “TAM Management”, clearly and unequivocally declare that neither in the past, nor in the present, had we ever had any type of cooperation with the authorities of the enemy state, that has occupied a significant part of Georgian territory and at the moment wages a terrifying war against Ukraine. We clearly and unequivocally declare that cooperation of any type with the occupant state through third parties (countries), including the distribution of the airplane spare parts, is completely excluded. We condemn the annexational war waged by Russia against the Ukraine and express our full support and solidarity to the people of the Ukraine.
“TAM Management” was established in 2015 after Tbilisi Aircraft Manufacturing had been expropriated from legitimate owners (25 shareholders) with the use of force and blackmailing, in just one night during Saakashvili regime in 2010. The affected shareholders (management team) of the aviation factory were the very people that have established a new company that took under its temporary possession only one hangar of the Tbilisi aviation plant (JSC “Tbilaviamsheni”), where “TAM Management” carries out its business activities at the moment. As for JSC “Tbilaviamsheni”, it currently remains in the unlawful ownership of government since 2010.
On tv story of “Mtavari Arkhi” of June 11th, it was declared in an affirmative manner, that “TAM management” LLC is affiliated with governmental authorities, persons related to the governance of the country and Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili. In the story, there has deliberately been no mention of the fact that the injured shareholders (the former shareholders of JSC “Tbilaviamsheni”, who were deprived of their shares) have been in ongoing civil proceedings against the government of Georgia since 2013, requesting the return of the unlawfully expropriated property/shares. This dispute has been lasting for 11 years. As it had been expected, the first and the second instance courts made decisions in favor of the government and our cassation appeal was submitted 3 years ago and the Supreme Court has not yet been considered it in direct violation of any laws of Georgia.
Accusing “TAM Management” of cooperating with the Russian Federation is particularly enraging. It is not only a huge lie, but a high treason as well, which aims to destroy an incredibly significant industry to the country (Georgia) itself. Russia has always considered Georgian aviation industry (Tbilisi aviation plant) as its competitor and never stopped attempting to impede and stop the Georgian aviation plant. The occupant state possesses several repair plants for SU-25 aircraft on its own, as well as a repair plant for SU-25 aircraft operating in Belarus. A genuine proof of Russia’s historical enmity toward Georgia’s aviation manufacturing industry is the bombing of the Tbilisi aviation plant in 2008. Objective of Russia was to destroy the aviation industry in Georgia totally. It failed in its efforts in 2008, however, unfortunately these attempts are still being made through such corrupt stories.
The partnership structure of “TAM Management” consists of unique and highly qualified personnel and management (former shareholders of aviation plant). In the said television story, they have mentioned Mr. T. Somkhishvili several times, who indeed is an indirect partner of our Company, meaning that his involvement in the Company is limited just to the status of the owner of the partner company and that he does not participate in management nor in the business operations of “TAM Management”. Any type of accusation against Mr. T. Somkhishvili or the “TAM Management” about having legal or other connections with Russian enterprise - “Sukhoi”, is just absurd and false. Provided that “Sukhoi” was established in the 90s of the last century, while “TAM Management” was found in 2015, it is impossible for “TAM Management” to have been participated in the establishment of “Sukhoi”, nor did the former ever purchased any share in the latter (“Sukhoi”).
The mentioned television story said about Congo and Chad-owned aircrafts, the spare parts of which are allegedly distributed to Russia for repair of their aircrafts, that bomb Ukraine. Even such a hypothetical assumption is absurd and entirely false as there are no aircraft repaired or delivered to these countries within the period of our cooperation with them (2021-2023). Moreover, Georgian aircraft production has established itself on the African market for a number of years already and these relations are neither recent, nor unusual. Our company closely cooperates with the aviation industries and the relevant state authorities of Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Azerbaijan and is currently in the negotiations with several countries and companies of Latin America.
Our company, established in 2015, has invested 7 million US Dollars in new aviation manufacturing and production and e created vacancies for 300 employees. We have succeeded in re-establishing an aviation manufacturing enterprise of modern standards that has international ISO and EN certificates and performs the repair and modernization of combat aircraft and helicopters. The design department of our company has also developed successful construction projects for a 9-seat business jet and an unmanned airborne vehicle, the production of which is planned in the near future. The fulfillment of the international contracts executed by us are primarily carried out through the strategic cooperation and assistance of the Ukrainian companies and other partners.
And finally, while preparing the tv story, “Mtavari Arkhi” has not even provided us with the opportunity to respond to the allegations voiced through their broadcast. With this letter, we would like to respond to society’s needs and its legitimate right to the truth.
