A modern sports infrastructure will be developed near Mziuri Children’s City, according to the Ministry of Economy.
Under the “State Program for Promoting the Development of Sports Infrastructure”, the National Agency for State Property has granted LLC “Sports Academy 2025” development rights to an 11,650 sq. m. plot of land adjacent to Mziuri for a period of 20 years.
The company, registered on July 22, 2025, is owned and directed by Berdia Bandzeladze. According to the agreement, the investor is required to invest at least 2 million GEL in building new sports infrastructure. The planned facilities include open and closed artificial turf fields, paddle courts, and other supporting infrastructure, aimed at promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle.
As outlined by the National Agency, the program is open to all interested entrepreneurial entities. Companies that submit investment projects for the creation or development of sports facilities can receive state-owned land for long-term use.
“The real estate is transferred for 20 years. For the first 10 years, the annual fee is set symbolically at 1 GEL in total, while from the 11th year onwards, the fee will be determined according to the property’s market value,” explained Irakli Shengelia, Chairman of the National Agency for State Property.
