The State Audit Office of Georgia will conduct a compliance audit of the public agency “Enterprise Georgia” covering the years 2023–2025, according to the Audit Office’s published annual plan. The audit aims to examine whether the agency’s activities comply with current regulatory and legislative requirements.
The agency’s budgets have fluctuated in recent years: GEL 253 million in 2023, GEL 222 million in 2024, GEL 247 million in 2025, and GEL 183 million is allocated for 2026. “Enterprise Georgia” is a key state institution focused on improving the entrepreneurial environment, supporting private sector development, promoting investment, and boosting exports.
The agency operates across three main areas: business development, exports, and investment. Its business division supports entrepreneurship, new enterprises, and the expansion or modernization of existing businesses and hotels. The export division promotes Georgia’s export potential, increases the competitiveness of Georgian products abroad, and diversifies export markets. The investment division attracts and facilitates foreign direct investment, acting as a mediator between international investors and the Georgian government through a “one-stop shop” approach.
The upcoming audit will assess how effectively the agency has fulfilled these mandates and complied with regulatory and legal standards in its operations over the past three years.
