Starting in 2024, individuals for whom the state used to finance medicines for treating chronic diseases within certain limits will receive full financing for the entire year, Deputy Health Minister Ilia Ghudushauri announced.
According to him, the Health Ministry expanded the program through active reforms over the past two years to enhance access to medicines. Key reforms include the opening of the Turkish market and the implementation of medicine reference prices.
“As a result of these reforms, Georgian citizens have collectively saved GEL 300-400 million, and the prices of certain medicines have decreased by an average of 40%,” Ghudushauri stated.
