The water supply company published its financial results for 2021. According to the document, the company's financial situation improved significantly - in 2020, the company had a loss of GEL 205 million and in 2021, its profit amounted to GEL 36.9 million.
The increase in profit was due to both the increase in the income received from customers and the doubling of the state subsidy. Consumers paid the company GEL 45.2 million for the water tariff, which was 6.5 million more than last year. The direct budget subsidy amounted to GEL 60 million, which exceeded the 2020 subsidy by GEL 30 million.
In total, the company earned GEL 107.8 million in 2021, which was 35.6 million more than the 2020 revenue.
The United Water Supply Company is working on the renewal of water supply systems in the regions with funding from international donors. The company has liabilities of GEL 1.3 billion towards various parties.
"The structure of the company consists of the head office in Tbilisi, 11 regional branches and 55 service centers. The total number of employees totals to 2,851 people.
According to the data for 2021, "Georgian United Water Supply Company" LLC serves more than 341 thousand household subscribers, which is more than 850 thousand beneficiaries," the company's management report says.
