Sales at Steakhouse #1 increase by an average of 5–10% annually, according to founder and restaurateur Shota Burjanadze. He told BM.GE that consumer interest in steak has grown steadily and the product is no longer limited to high-income customers.
Burjanadze said the restaurant sector did not experience significant deterioration during the first eight months of the year. A positive tourism season supported restaurants, particularly in destinations with higher tourist flows, although performance varies by region.
He noted that steakhouses remain a relatively small segment of Georgia’s restaurant market, with only a limited number of specialized brands. However, over the past 12 years, he has seen growing interest from both local and foreign customers as consumers have become more familiar with steak culture. He said Steakhouse #1 has recorded growth every year, although the pace has varied.
According to Burjanadze, customers now evaluate the overall dining experience, including the atmosphere, service and music, rather than food alone. He added that the sector’s main challenge remains human resources - not only finding experienced professionals but also people willing to work in the industry and develop their skills.
