A strawberry greenhouse "Agrospace" was opened in Marneuli last year. The investment value of the project is GEL 2 million. Agrospace received its first harvest in 2022. In the farm, which includes a total of 3 hectares, the strawberry garden covers half a hectare.
Nutsa Salukvadze, the co-founder of "Agrospace" says that strawberry producers need state support so that the local crop can compete with the imported one.
"Strawberries are produced in very small amounts in Georgia, but the business has great potential. State support is needed to replace imports with local production. We are a startup, it is difficult for a startup to cover electricity costs, if we are talking about a quality product, it is associated with quite a lot of expenditures. Our product is a bio product, therefore all the components increase the price", says Nutsa Salukvadze.
