The social strawberry jam-producing enterprise "Agama" will expand next year, - Archil Elbakidze, the founder of the enterprise told BMG.

According to him, the demand for strawberries and strawberry jam in the region is so great that it was necessary to increase both the enterprise and production volumes. Currently, they have two greenhouses, but in 2024, it is planned to triple the production.

"At this stage, we have 4,000 strawberry plants, from which we process 2-2.5 tons of strawberries per year. From next year, we should have a 2,500-meter greenhouse, for which approximately GEL 100,000 will be invested. We will make the investment both by ourselves and in cooperation with donors.

At this stage, there are no plans to increase sales volumes. We have to meet the demand in Imereti first, and then we will think about expanding and exporting to other regions," says Elbakidze.

According to him, the company employs a total of 3 people, who are from the IDP settlement near the village, but depending on the need, their number increases to 5 people. After the expansion of the enterprise, it is planned to increase the staff to 10 people.

The social enterprise "Agama", located in the village of Geguti in Imereti, has been operating on the market for 5 years.
