Subway continues to expand its presence in Georgia, opening its 28th branch in City Mall. Operated by Wissol Group under an exclusive master franchise agreement with Subway International BV, the chain plans to launch 80 restaurants across the country in the coming years. The official opening of the City Mall location was attended by Soso Pkhakadze, President of Wissol Group.

“Together with Wissol Group, Subway is growing at record speed in Georgia. Since 2013, Wissol Group has managed the expansion of American brands in the country, including Subway, Wandy’s, and Dunkin’, with over 130 restaurants now in operation. Our experience allows us to meet local consumer needs and offer a healthy, balanced dining experience accessible to everyone,” Pkhakadze said. Subway locations currently operate in Tbilisi Mall, East Point, Batumi Grand Mall, Black Sea Mall, Rustavi Mall, and Gori Mall. Ten more restaurants are planned for 2026.

The brand also plans menu and technology upgrades in the coming year. New Self-Order devices will speed up in-restaurant service, while an updated Subway app will allow customers to pre-order, select balanced combinations, and enjoy a personalized experience. Subway aims to combine quality, health, and speed, letting guests create sandwiches tailored to their tastes with fresh ingredients every day.

Subway was founded in 1965 and has grown into a global fast-food leader, serving millions daily across more than 37,000 restaurants in over 100 countries. In Georgia, the brand seeks to become the most trusted and loved fast-food option by delivering freshness, distinctive taste, and healthy balance in every meal, according to Subway CEO Givi Gvetadze.
