In January-October of this year, Georgia purchased 19,239 tons of sunflower oil worth USD 34.4 million.
According to the statistics, the import value and volumes of goods decreased in 10M2022 compared to the same period of the previous year. Namely, the import value decreased by 15.1%, and the volume - by 30.3%.
As in previous years, the main oil import market for the country remains Russia, which occupies 84.1%-share of the total imports. It should be noted that during this period, Georgia imported 33.1% less goods from Russia.
As for the import markets of sunflower oil, their ranking by value is as follows:
1. Russia - USD 28.6 million, 16 184 tons;
2. Azerbaijan - USD 3.3 million, 1 660 tons;
3. Ukraine - USD 1.1 million, 728 tons;
4. Turkey - USD 628 thousand, 307 tons;
5. Kazakhstan - USD 553 thousand, 306 tons;
6. Armenia - USD 67 thousand, 34 tons;
7. Italy - USD 30 thousand, 10 tons;
8. Germany - USD 10 thousand, 3 tons;
9. Belarus - USD 4 thousand, 1 ton;
10. France - USD 1 thousand.
1,665 tons of oil worth USD 2.8 million were exported from Georgia this year, which was significantly higher than last year (100 tons worth of USD 144 thousand). From this, the country received USD 2.5 million from local exports.
