One of the topics discussed at the session envisages annulment of the authorities of parliamentary Assembly and complication of decision-making on voting.
“Committees had the hard day yesterday. The political groups have been preparing for the today’s discussion concerning maintenance of the sanctions for Russia”, - Mme. Chugoshvili stated.
Russia tries to have imposed sanctions annulled without fulfilling any of his commitments.
“Russia has assumed too many commitments fulfillment of which is crucial for our country. These commitments concern territorial integrity of Georgia, IDP problems, interests of our country and hence, naturally we protect the positions of our country at the discussions. Today, we will count the supporters of Russia and count the supporters of CoE values. Making the any preferential decision about the sanctions to Russia without Russia fulfilling assumed obligations will imply deviation for CoE itself and will inflict damage to the values CoE has been established for. Everyone well realizes it. So, I believe that today, CoE will make the correct decision”.
