Tamar Ioseliani Appointed Deputy Minister of Economy, Replacing Guram Guramishvili

Tamar Ioseliani has been appointed Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, replacing Guram Guramishvili, who served in the role since March 2021.

According to the Ministry of Economy, Ioseliani has over 15 years of managerial experience in the transport sector. She led the Maritime Transport Agency from 2018 to 2023, chaired the Supervisory Board of the Anaklia Deepwater Port in 2023–2025, and has been the Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Georgian Airports Association LLC since 2025. Additionally, she was appointed Chairperson of the Council for the Authorization of Higher Educational Institutions.

Ioseliani holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Georgian-American University. She studied at the University of Southampton as a UN and Nippon Foundation scholar in 2015, completing an internship at UN Headquarters in New York. She also completed the Ocean Governance Programme (Yeosu Academy, South Korea) and the Advanced Maritime Leaders Programme (Singapore), and graduated from an LSE program covering corporate law, governance, international and commercial law, competition policy, and intellectual property law.

The future role of Guram Guramishvili has not yet been disclosed. The Ministry of Economy has not provided information regarding his next position.
