According to TBC Research, growth of international visitor trips accelerated further to +16.3% YoY in December, with number of tourists up by 15.5 %.
As for the drivers of growth, EU maintains solid growth rate (+31.4% YoY) while the visitors from the CIS region also posted strong growth (+16.1% YoY) reflecting increase from Azerbaijan (+19.1% YoY), Armenia (+14.9% YoY) as well as from the Central Asian countries (+124.7% YoY) and moderate increase from Russia (+2.6% YoY) following the declining tendency since the introduction of flight ban in July 2019.
Also, Israel continued to play an important role (+63.8% YoY) as well as continued recovery from Turkey (+19.7% YoY). At the same time, number of visitors from Iran (-25.4% YoY) continues to decline, however, its contribution to overall dynamics is becoming less significant.
