Tbilisi City Council is reviewing a new proposal to increase the capital’s 2025 budget by GEL 62.5 million, bringing the total to GEL 2.27 billion. According to Mayor Kakha Kaladze, the additional funds will primarily support infrastructure development across the city.

This marks the second budget increase for Tbilisi in 2025. In January, the City Council approved a GEL 180 million addition to the budget, reflecting the growing scale of ongoing and planned projects.

“The increased funds will go toward infrastructure and social programs. While many good initiatives are underway, significant challenges remain, and we are committed to addressing them,” Kaladze said.

“Since 2017, the people of Tbilisi have stood by us and supported our vision. We are entering a very important phase for the city, with many transformative projects ahead, which we will announce gradually.”

The mayor emphasized that public support and trust are key drivers behind the administration’s continued development efforts. He also hinted at a dynamic four years ahead, with a series of large-scale projects planned to improve urban living standards and connectivity.
