The fifth Tbilisi Silk Road Forum has commenced at the Opera and Ballet Theatre in the Georgian capital. Held under the patronage of Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, on October 22–23, the event brings together senior political figures, representatives from the business sector, and international organisations.

The opening session features a high-level dialogue with the participation of regional heads of government, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov.

Since its inception in 2015, the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum has been convened biennially, evolving into a renowned international platform. It serves as a vital arena for dialogue among governments, as well as for bilateral and multilateral meetings between organisations and business leaders.

This year’s event promises to be as distinguished and diverse as ever, attracting over 2,300 delegates from more than 70 countries. Attendees include Prime Ministers and Vice Prime Ministers from the region, sectoral ministers from beyond the region, leading global corporations, international experts, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia, and organisations such as the United Nations, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation (BSEC).

The Tbilisi Silk Road Forum represents a vital opportunity and a powerful platform for strengthening political, trade, economic, and cultural ties between Asia and Europe. Discussions will focus on international trade relations, transport and logistics networks, including the strategic Middle Corridor, and the development of new programmes and projects across various sectors. This year’s main theme and slogan are: “Invest in Connectivity – Grow in Stability.”

On October 22, seven panel discussions will explore critical issues: international trade, the Middle Corridor, energy, investments, innovation, and technology. In addition to these core sessions, parallel events will highlight regional infrastructure initiatives, including the Anaklia Deep-Sea Port and Black Sea submarine cable projects, covering both energy and digital connectivity.

The forum concludes on October 23 with the Tbilisi Finance Summit. Throughout the two days, numerous parallel events and bilateral business meetings will facilitate networking and cooperation among representatives from diverse sectors.
