Tbilisi Stock Exchange to Upgrade Platform to Expand Investor Access – Amzashvili

გიორგი ამზაშვილი

The Tbilisi Stock Exchange is preparing a technical upgrade that will make trading more accessible and help expand its investor base, according to CEO Giorgi Amzashvili.

Speaking on TV-program Business Course, Amzashvili said the platform will introduce new functionalities in the coming months, allowing investors to access the exchange directly through brokerage applications. He noted that the current system relies on the globally used FIX protocol, which is effective but requires specialized knowledge and is not well suited for broad retail participation.

To address this, the exchange is developing an additional access layer that will significantly increase connectivity and enable investors to trade Tbilisi Stock Exchange-listed securities through the same apps they already use for foreign markets.

Amzashvili said the upgrade is expected to boost trading activity on the platform. Currently, seven corporate bond issues are listed on the Tbilisi Stock Exchange, including securities issued by Bank of Georgia and Tegeta Motors in the A listing category.
