“Tbilisoba 2016” will be celebrated in the Capital on the 15th and 16th of October. This year Annual Autumn Festival will be even more extensive and diverse. In the scope of the festival, there will be something for everyone: cultural and sporting events, literary and architecture-related competitions, children’s entertainment events, culinary exhibitions and farmers markets.
The Rike Park will be transformed into “Children’s City”. Children’s theater, concerts, “sand town”, cheerful competitions, children’s disco and other entertaining activities will be organized for young guests.
A center of these events will be “New Tbilisi”. Busy cultural program, including musical and literary events as well as different exhibitions, will be presented to “Tbilisoba” spectators and art lovers.
On the 15th of October “Tbilisoba” festival will open with staged scenes of 19th century’s unremembered professions in “Legvtaxhevi” and conclude on 16th of October with Gala concert “Tbilisi my City” at “Maidan”.
“Ilia” Garden will hold the annual “Honorary Tbilisian” award ceremony on the 15th of October.
This year, “Tbilisoba 2016” festival will be celebrated on the 15th and 16th of October. The Tbilisi City Hall has therefore published 2-day events program.
15th of October:
12:00 - 9:00 - stages for semi-forgotten professions will be set up in Legvtakhevi (including special corners for Nobles and Karachogelians as well as for blacksmiths, cobblers, a water-vendors and a poster-painters).
12:00 - 19:00 - Tbilisi Market will be set up in collaboration with Mr. Zurab Shevardnadze at Europe Square’s Tolerance Park.
12:00 - 19:00 - at Europe Square’s Wine Rise, an exhibition-sale of various Georgian wines will be held (including tasting).
12:00 - 19:00 - an exhibition-sale of Georgian agricultural produce and confectionery will be held at the Rike.
12:00 - 19:00 - Metekhi Bridge will become a demonstration site for both classic and cutting-edge cars.
12:00 - 19:00 - classical music concerts will be held at Europe Square with participation of the Children’s Orchestra, child violinists, a string quartet, a flute quartet, a string quartet “Sfortsando”, Tbilisi Girls’ Band, a “Georgian Brass” Orchestra as well as a musical program “Conduct for Us”.
12:00 - 19:00 - a variety of events aimed at children and adults alike will be held at the Rike Park, including: “Children’s City”, various jovial contests, video games, children’s disco, sand castle building, paintball and jousting, as well as sporting events such as basketball, rugby and mini golf, topped by a culinary contest with Mr. Nika Tsulukidze that will include both tasting and a master class.
12:00 - 00:00 - an installation named “Tomorrow” will be exhibited at the territory of “New Tbilisi”.
12:00 - 15:00 - visitors to New Tbilisi will have a chance to listen to DJ Nakashidze. From 15:00 - 17:00 a hip-hop live performance will be held followed by an exhibition named “Error Images” from 16:00 - 17:00.
15:00 - 16:00 - the National Youth and Children’s Palace will host a photo gallery celebrating the anniversary of Tbilisi’s twinning with the Cities of Nantes and Saarbrucken.
16:00 - 17:00 - “Shumba Land” will be opened at the Vake Park, while from 17:00 -18:00 “Radisson Blu Iveria” Tbilisi hotel will host an award ceremony for an architectural contest.
A live performance by Mr. Max Machaidze will be held at “New Tbilisi” from 17:00 - 19:00.
19:00 - 01:00 - youth concerts will be held at Europe Square, with participation of bands such as “Region”, “Frani” and “LoudSpeakers”. The band “Young Georgian Lolitaz” will perform from 19:00 - 21:00.
19:30 - 21:30 - a symphonic music concert named “Autumn Tbilisi 2016” will be held at Jansug Kakhidze Tbilisi Center for Music & Culture.
20:00 - 22:00- a flamenco “Rain” by Ms. Eva Yerbabuena will be held at State Opera House of Georgia.
21:00 - 22:00 - Ilia Garden will hold the annual “Honorary Tbilisian” award ceremony.
21:00 - 00:00 - DJ Gio Shengelia will perform at “New Tbilisi”.

15:30 - 17:00 – “New Tbilisi” will become a stage for the concert by Tbilisi City Hall’s orchestra “Big Band”, along with an exhibition named “Error Images” that will last from 16:00 - 17:00.
18:00 - 19:00- Tbilisi Municipal Assembly will hold an award ceremony for a literary and art contest “Tbilisi 2016”, followed by an award ceremony for “Guardian of Tbilisi” (19:00 -20:00).
19:00 -20:30 - a musical performance “Tkhroba Musikit” with Mr. Dato Evgenidze will be held, along with a performance by Modern Tbilisi Ballet from 20:00-20:30.
21:00 - 22:00 – “New Tbilisi” will host the “Tbilisian Yard”, while from 21:00 to 22:45, a gala concert “Tbilisi, My City” will be held at the Meidan.
23:00 - 01:00 – Residents of Tbilisi and visitors alike will be entertained by DJ GACHA.
