Irakli Bokuchava, Commercial Director of Teliani Valley, spoke about the future plans of the company and current challenge of COVId-19 with TV-program “Business Morning”.

As Bokuchava points out, the wine producer has received the biggest blow on the local market.

"The pandemic hit the HORECA sector for the first time, not only in Georgia, but also in the world. This is the sector where the most expensive wines are sold. We, like all wine companies, are in the final phase of the vintage. Our vineyards in Kindzmarauli zone (Saperavi variety) are located on about 700 hectares and we will process it first, but we also get grapes from the farmers. During the pandemic, changes took place in the portfolio of the company and more low-priced wine was sold than high-priced wine. There was a significant decline in the number of wines sold in restaurants, wine bars and wine shops. Low-cost products sold more than we had planned. The changes took place with us, the pandemic affected everyone equally. We received the biggest blow in Georgia," Irakli Bokuchava explained.

As for the future plans, according to the commercial director of "Teliani Valley", the company plans to master the current markets, while in the future they plan to enter the new markets.

"The company has entered the England with new premium quality wines. We have also rebranded in the US and premium quality products have already arrived there. Now we are working on exporting wine to Germany," Irakli Bokuchava said.
