Georgia has yet to establish coworking as a clearly defined industry, despite years of effort, according to Gino Dolin, CEO of coworking space operator Terminal. Speaking on BMGTV, she said that over the past eight years, the sector has struggled to position itself as a unified and recognized field.
Dolini noted that coworking spaces are still often misunderstood and inconsistently categorized, sometimes as traditional offices, other times as hostels - highlighting the lack of clear standards and identity within the market.
She emphasized the need for stronger government involvement, pointing to Western models where co-financing programs and public-private cooperation help support startups and innovation ecosystems. According to him, such support would create more favorable conditions for emerging businesses.
Dolini added that Terminal has been developed in line with international standards and contributes to building a broader ecosystem. She stressed that each step toward developing coworking infrastructure plays a role in advancing both the industry and the wider economy.
