As of December 31, 2024, the assets of Georgia’s Pension Agency have surpassed GEL 6 billion. Of which, GEL 4.56 billion represents contributions from 1.3 million participants of the pension system, and GEL 1.44 billion is interest accrued as a result of investment activities.
More than 99% of citizens' pension savings are placed in a conservative investment portfolio, the annual real earnings amount to 12.8%. System participants, in accordance with their own application, can change their portfolio and switch to a balanced or dynamic investment portfolio. According to the Pension Agency, the return on the dynamic investment portfolio is 15.3%, and the return on the conservative portfolio is 14.3%.
The primary difference between these portfolios lies in their allocation to global stocks, with the dynamic portfolio holding 50.8 % in stocks, the balanced portfolio 29.9%, and the conservative portfolio 16.2%. In total, the Pension Agency has invested GEL 1 billion on the global stock exchange.
