Georgian fire-resistant uniform of the firefighter is ready. Vamekh Kherkheulidze, one of the founders of startup company ELVEN TECHNOLOGIES talked to BMG about it. As he says, now the prototype, in addition to laboratory testing, must also pass a field test. After that, Jerry will be certified.
The authors of the startup say that if everything goes according to plan, by the end of 2022, firefighters in different countries of the world will "fight" in Georgian uniforms to save lives.
According to Vamekh Kherkheulidze, different countries have already shown interest in fireproof costumes.
The Australian Government is interested in our product. The government has created a special accelerator for fire-fighting startups because massive fires are a problem in Australia. One week ago, a Latvian accelerator became interested in us and might invest in our company in three months. An interesting contact has been made with Azerbaijan. I am talking about a powerful investor, who might convince us to completely move to Azerbaijan.
According to the laboratory tests, protection time for the existing costumes in the market is 8-10 seconds - while we have 10 times more - 60-80 seconds. We are thinking of creating another product - a cooling system, which will increase the protection time to 30 minutes! In 30 minutes, one fire-fighter can cover the whole building.
We met with a lot of people in Georgia including big businesses and powerful people. But we also met ordinary people who want to help us. Most of the money we raised came from people who made an investment for the first time in their lives. Our funds are currently at 32,000 US dollars. We need 75,000 US dollars in total. We have applied for the GITA grant and are waiting for an answer. With this money, we will do laboratory and field tests. In the third quarter of 2021, we plan to claim a patent. We also plan to get a certification of the product. This will allow us to ship the product anywhere in the world by 2022.
