In February 2023, the European Commission schedules to start the assessment of the progress of Georgia in compliance with the EU recommendations and I reserve a hope that the efforts undertaken by Georgia will this time be due valued and the EU grants the status of the EU candidate country”, - the Speaker stated at the plenary session when reporting to the Parliament on activity for 2023 and action plan for 2023.
According to him, facilitation of the security and socio-economic development of Georgia is the priority determining the parliamentary agenda of 2023.
“In February 2023, the European Commission schedules to start the assessment of the progress of Georgia in compliance with the EU recommendations and in this regard, providing already achieved tangible outcomes, the positive sectoral report of the European Commission published on February 3, 2023, and the events scheduled for the EU integration, I reserve a hope that the efforts undertaken by Georgia will this time be due valued and the EU grants the status of the EU candidate country. Thus, our further progress at the EU integration path, capacity building of the Parliament and facilitation of the security and socio-economic development of Georgia are the priorities determining the parliamentary agenda of 2023. I hope, through cooperation, we will achieve significant progress to further enhance the peaceful, economically strong, stable and European future of our country”, - the Speaker stated.
