The European Parliament supported the imposition of sanctions against the former Prime Minister of Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili.
The sixth amendment to the resolution, authored by MEP Miriam Lexmann, states that personal sanctions should be imposed on Ivanishvili and all those people who are responsible for the deterioration of democratic processes.
275 deputies supported this amendment at today's session. 212 MEPs went against it. 132 abstained.
