Due to the lack of quorum, the extraordinary session of the Parliament couldn't take place. Today, only 65 MPs registered. Accordingly, the quorum was not reached and the session could not be opened.

Mamuka Mdinaradze, chairman of the Georgian Dream faction, explained the reasons for the failure of the session.

"Our opponent colleagues know for sure that there are not enough deputies in Georgia that only a majority can create a quorum today. Our colleagues are also at the Francophonie event. We will not be able to try to form a quorum by majority alone. At the time, our esteemed colleagues called it sabotage. It is good that it was acknowledged that this was a parliamentary tool and that this tool was used.

When our colleagues who are outside the country will arrive from abroad and when the Francophonie events are over - be it the end of July or August, you will come and work. Now did it to yourself. If you were begging for vacations, you won't have a vacation. When we say it and gather, then you will come, work and understand what parliamentary activity is. If you understood it at least a little, it's good," said Mamuka Mdinaradze.

At the extraordinary session of the Parliament, the draft "Defence Code" should have been discussed in the second reading.
