The Government of Armenia is actively supporting the adoption of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the private sector of the economy. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy, Sevak Mikaelyan, during the panel discussion "Artificial Intelligence in Government" at the AI Conf 2024 conference.
Sevak Mikaelyan outlined the steps developed by the Ministry of Economy to assist businesses in digitizing their workflows.
"Artificial intelligence is of great significance for Armenia's economy, particularly in agriculture, energy, and manufacturing," Mikaelyan noted. "Today, AI can and does help improve efficiency, reduce resource losses, and drive the digitization of industries, fostering sustainable economic growth."
According to the deputy minister, the Armenian government encourages the use of electronic tools to promote the application of digital technologies in the private sector.
To support the implementation of digital solutions in small and medium-sized enterprises, the government is executing several promising programs.
In particular, there are plans to provide assistance to businesses in upgrading with digital and innovative technologies, simplifying processes, and enhancing productivity and competitiveness.
