"The aim of the committee's activity is to promote the issues of health and social protection of the population, labor, employment, protection of mothers and children, family development, the elderly, displaced persons, veterans and disabled persons.
As the chairman of the committee Zaza Lominadze noted, a new format of the 2024 plan was developed, it includes the analysis of the activities outlined in the action plan of the previous year, regulatory legislative and strategic documents of the field, international obligations, challenges in the field and the needs of the committee. This year, the committee will work in the direction of implementing the health protection strategy.
It will be important for the committee to implement the obligations assumed by Georgia in the direction of integration with the European Union. In 2024, the regulatory legislation of health and social protection should be brought closer to the 6 legal acts of the European Union.
The action plan of the committee for 2024 includes 4 strategic tasks and 41 activities. These are: implementation of evidence-based legislative activities in the direction of health and social protection policy; Effective supervision of the implementation of sectoral policies; ensuring effective representative activity by the committee; Improving the effectiveness of the committee's activities.
According to Tamar Gabunia, First Deputy Minister of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Protection, it is important that the Ministry was given the opportunity to be involved in the development of the plan, the plan is very well prepared and fully follows the health strategy, goals and plans of the Ministry.
