The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts that the Armenian economy will grow by 6% in 2024, but the growth will slow down by 2025. This was stated by the Deputy Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the IMF, Thanos Arvanitis.
"This is due to the fact that factors contributing to growth will begin to decline, and other factors will come into play," he noted on May 9 during the presentation of the IMF's regional economic outlook for 2024 in Yerevan, held jointly with the Central Bank of Armenia, as reported by the "ARKA" agency.
According to the IMF's "World Economic Outlook" report for April, a slowdown in Armenian economic growth to 5.2% is forecasted by 2025.
IMF analysts also predict that inflation in Armenia will be 3.1% in 2024 and will increase to 3.7% by 2025.
