"Mtkvari HHP" suffered a loss of USD 15.9 million in 2023, - according to the report published by the company. The construction of the HPP is not finished yet, therefore it cannot generate an income. The HPP project had a loss in 2022 as well, which made up USD 15.9 million.
As of the financial report, the company has accumulated losses over the years in the amount of USD 144 million, loans and other liabilities stood at USD 70.5 million. The investment value of the project amounts to USD 236 million.
The total installed capacity of Mtkvari HPP is 54.1 MW, and the average annual output of electricity - 259.8 million kWh.
Bidzina Ivanishvili's co-investment fund has been implementing "Mtkvari HPP" project since 2014. The initial cost of the project was USD 100 million, but in 2023 it became known that the investment volume of the project doubled and reached USD 236 million. In July 2024, it became known that the co-investment fund sold the "Mtkvari HPP" project.
The joint-stock company "Hydroenergy" purchased the hydropower plant project, which was founded in February 2024.
