From January 3, 2021, the price of natural gas will increase for non-household customers in Tbilisi. The price increase amounts to 24 tetri per cubic meter, as a result of which gas tariff will be 1.1 GEL. “Tbilisi Energy” announced the decision on gas price increase on December 1.
Tbilisi Energy Commercial Director Edisher Khorava has named the reasons why the company increases natural gas price for commercial customers by 24 tetri.
“Tariff increase is caused by depreciation of the national currency. The current exchange rate puts a great pressure on the company, the matter concerns to the loss of millions of lari, which does not allow the company to fulfill its terms and conditions, provided by the license. The company has obligations to make gas supply reliable and uninterrupted.
The tariff needed adjustment. Price increase of 24 tetri includes the initial cost of the product, as well as the expenditures that are required for gas delivery to the customer," Edisher Khorava explained.
