Kakha Gogolashvili, director of the Center for European Studies of Rondel Foundation declares, that the new elections are only way out of the current situation in Georgia. He stated this to journalists at the annual Black Sea conference.
According to Kakha Gogolashvili, the situation in the country is deplorable and such processes often become unmanageable, so there is a great risk.
"Everyone knows that the only solution is new elections and a change of government, the emergence of new trust in the country, both from the population and investors, and, accordingly, the consolidation of the country in this way. We have a deplorable situation, it is impossible for business to have positive expectations when the law no longer applies in the country and institutions are broken.
Maybe one or two rich people will endure and somehow get through this moment, but for the country it is very risky. Even countries that are much stronger than we avoid to enter such an unstable environment, because in the end, the reins of governance are lost when there is political, social instability and division. Therefore, no economist or political science specialist can give any other recommendation to the country in such a situation, except to hold new elections," said Kakha Gogolashvili.
