Who appoints the director of the Pension Agency?
According to the law "on Cumulative Pension", the director of the Pension Agency is elected by the supervisory board and appointed for a period of 5 years. The Supervisory Board of the Pension Agency consists of 4 members, namely, the Minister of Finance of Georgia, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Minister of IDPs from the occupied territories of Georgia, the Minister of Labor, Health and Social Protection and the Chairman of the Investment Council. It is the Supervisory Board that oversees the activities of the Pension Agency, except for investment activities.
When will the competition for the new director of the Pension Agency be announced?
The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development did not tell BMG a specific date, but they wrote to us that "the Supervisory Board of the Pension Agency will meet in the near future and make a decision on the conditions for announcing the competition".
Currently, Giorgi Chichinadze is the director of the Pension Agency. Levan Surguladze left the position of the director of the Pension Agency before Giorgi Danelia.
