The President of Georgia initiates to create a new healthcare strategy, Medea. Salome Zourabichvili made the statement at the opening of the first sitting of the Parliament of the 10th convocation.
"The need to make healthcare a priority is clear to everyone amid pandemic. This sector has shown some resilience in overcoming the crisis. However, priority should be given to the whole field of medicine, which has the potential to become one of the leading sectors for our economy tomorrow.
To do this, we must combine all our capabilities and experience into one whole strategy – including traditional medicine, or modern competencies acquired in the fight against new diseases, balneological potential. A new brand should be created for this strategy – Medea, which will return us to the historical mark in the region and in the world," - said Salome Zurabishvili.
According to her, this strategy should allow us to treat oncology patients in the country.
