The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia charged the director of the construction company "Viva Vake" with the fact of fraudulent misappropriation of a large amount of money belonging to citizens.
According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was established that the accused founded "Viva Vake" LLC in 2016 and, in order to fraudulently misappropriate a large amount of money belonging to citizens, he attracted people who wanted to buy apartments with false advertisements. Based on the agreements signed with the citizens, the director of the company undertook to complete the construction of the building and transfer the real estate to the owners, on the basis of which the victims transferred a large amount of money to the bank accounts of Viva Vake LLC. In this way, the accused fraudulently took possession of 5 988 279,56 GEL totally, after which the company did not fulfill its obligations under the agreement, did not carry out construction works and construction of residential building.
The director of "Viva Vake" LLC was charged under sub-paragraphs "a" and "b" of Part 3 of Article 180 (fraud, committed by using official status, in a large amount) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
On the basis of the motion of the Prosecutor's Office, the court extended imprisonment to the accused in absentia as a preventive measure.
A search has been announced for the accused and appropriate measures are being taken in order to determine his location and arrest him.
