The revenues of three major companies involved in organizing gambling and lotteries in Armenia nearly doubled this year compared to the previous year, according to the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.
In the first quarter of 2023, three betting companies together paid taxes amounting to 4 billion 917 million drams (approximately $12 million) to the state budget, while in the first quarter of 2024, this figure increased to 8 billion 724 million drams (about $23 million).
The company "Soft Contract," representing the brand "Vivaro," paid taxes amounting to 2 billion 332 million drams (approximately $6 million) for January-March 2023, whereas for the same period in 2024, this figure increased to 3 billion 606 million drams (over $9 million).
The company "Totogaming," represented by "Digitain," paid 1 billion 327 million drams ($3.5 million) in the first quarter of the previous year, while this year, the amount increased to 2 billion 719 million drams (about $7 million).
LLC "Kabarko," representing the brand "Adjarabet," paid taxes amounting to 2 billion 399 million drams (approximately $6 million) for the same period this year, whereas in the first quarter of 2023, this figure was 1 billion 258 million drams (about $3 million).
Earlier, with reference to data from the State Revenue Committee, BMG reported that in January-August 2023, the volume of bets placed in online gambling games amounted to 3.9 trillion drams (about $10 billion).
This figure is a record compared to previous years: for the same period in 2019, bets were placed in the amount of 658 billion drams (over $1.5 billion), in eight months of 2020 - 1.2 trillion (over $3 billion), in 2021 - 2.3 trillion (about $6 billion), and in 2022 - 3.7 trillion (about $9.8 billion).
