The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the country's ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopyrkin was summoned to Moscow for consultations. This was stated in a message from the press service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which did not provide further details.

The message did not specify the reason for this decision, although relations between Russia and Armenia remain complicated.

On Thursday, May 22, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan once again launched a critique of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) - relations between Yerevan and this structure are so strained that it has led to the freezing of the country's membership in the CSTO and the suspension of membership fees.

Meanwhile, in Armenia's foreign trade turnover, Russia holds the leading position with a volume of over $7.3 billion in 2023. In January-March of the current year, trade turnover with Russia increased by 2.4 times, amounting to $3.7 billion in monetary terms.
