Gobi restaurant’s summer revenue nearly doubled expectations, according to Sulkhan Khomeriki, a representative of the restaurant. He said customer interest has grown faster than anticipated, with the 40-seat venue now unable to accommodate walk-ins in the evenings without advance reservations.
The restaurant opened around six months ago, and the team initially expected it would take at least a year to establish the brand in the market. However, Khomeriki said awareness of Gobi and its dishes has already surpassed expectations, with the restaurant now consistently full.
He added that the preparation process is an important part of the customer experience, as guests can watch their meals being prepared and interact with the chef. According to Khomeriki, this creates an additional emotional element and helps differentiate the restaurant.
Foreign tourists make up a significant share of Gobi’s customers, and their positive feedback has encouraged the company to expand. Khomeriki said the restaurant plans to open a second location next year, citing strong demand and customer reviews as key motivation.
