Hotelier Maiko Murachashvili says that the situation in Gudauri is better than last year. As she told BMG, both bookings and the number of nights spent have increased.
Speaking to BMG about current trends, the managing partner of Hotel Roshe Gudauri and West Inn Georgia - Kutaisi noted that hotels in Gudauri are mainly visited by foreign visitors.
“In Gudauri, the average daily rate (ADR) has increased compared to last year, and the occupancy rate in the booking area has also grown. For example, in January, last year we had about 56%, and today we have already exceeded 81%. Also, the New Year period was 100% loaded. As for February, we are already 76% booked in advance and we expect an average of 15-20% more, so February looks good too.
We have a minimum of local tourists, visitors are mainly from Saudi Arabia, the so-called Gulf countries, Poland, Russia, Israel. Also, when championships are held, reservations are made, for example, from Germany. We receive quite a few multinational tourists. Also, what is pleasant, the number of days of stay has increased compared to last year. If last year was 3 days on average, this year it is 5-7 days," says Maiko Murachashvili.
As for Kutaisi, according to the hotelier, the situation is difficult and the indicators have deteriorated. Against the background that, unlike last year, the hotel does not have reservations for conferences or sports groups, it is unable to cover operating expenses and has switched to donations from the founders.
