“The solution is a new election” – Tornike Abuladze

თორნიკე აბულაძე

"The solution here is a new election. The goal is de-escalation because the point where we are today is extremely dangerous, but I believe de-escalation cannot happen without it," said Tornike Abuladze, a shareholder of the development company "Arsi," on the program Business Week.

"What is happening today—the beating of people, arrests, punishments, the young people we've seen, who, judging by their appearance, must be around 18-19 years old, and the talk of organized crime, the style of arrests—this is, in fact, terror and is moving toward systemic terror. It must be stated unequivocally that this is the case.

As for business, it is clear that businesses see and analyze this most acutely. They may not be vocal about certain things, but I believe that, in the end, the most work on certain issues is being done precisely by businesses.

Regarding the solution, the way out here is new elections. The goal is de-escalation because the point we are at today is extremely dangerous, but I believe de-escalation cannot happen without this. Otherwise, we will see what happened in the 1990s—family conflicts and so on. I am not speaking about political issues now, but to stabilize the country, new elections are essential," said Tornike Abuladze.
