The Unit Value Index of Agricultural Products decreased by 1.3% compared to the previous quarter, according to the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the document, the change was mainly due to a 7.1% decrease in the unit value of live animals and animal products and an 11.8% decrease in the unit value of non-perennial crops, which contributed -3.85 and -2.25 percentage points to the total index change, respectively.
Compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the Unit Value Index of Agricultural Products decreased by 9.3%. The latter was largely caused by the 34.5% decrease in the unit value of non-perennial crops, which contributed -7.24 percentage points to the total index change. In the same period, the unit value of live animals and animal products went down by 10.7%, with the relevant contribution of -5.54 percentage points to the total index change.
