The Parliament of Georgia adopted a resolution on 22 June 2021 that ratified the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation. The document seeks to facilitate the settlement of cross-border commercial disputes.
In the resolution, the Parliament of Georgia included two reservations:
-
Georgia declares that the Convention shall not apply to settlement agreements to which the country is a party, or to which any governmental agencies or any person acting on behalf of a governmental agency is a party;
-
Georgia declares that it will apply the Convention only if the disputing parties have agreed to such.
