There Is Room to Reduce Prices – MCB Founder

ალექსანდრე რატიშვილი

Aleksandre Ratishvili, founder of bakery and pastry producer MCB Georgia, stated that there is potential to reduce product prices, though multiple factors influence pricing. He spoke to journalists ahead of a meeting with the Prices Commission.

Ratishvili expressed optimism regarding government initiatives on pricing, noting that the Prime Minister’s announcement was followed by serious discussions, culminating in the current meeting. He highlighted that MCB Georgia has been producing bakery goods for 27 years and faces numerous challenges in the market.

When asked specifically about the potential to lower prices, Ratishvili confirmed that it exists but depends on several factors, including relationships with chain supermarkets and cashback systems. He emphasized that such matters cannot be directly regulated by the government and are largely a legislative issue.

The businessman concluded by expressing hope that the outcome of ongoing discussions will be positive for both producers and consumers.
