Georgian Gambling Business Association declares, that the amount of transferred money from Georgia to foreign gambling sites will reach GEL 2 billion by the end of 2022. As for local operators, according to Giorgi Mamulaishvili, the head of the association, the decrease is 14% since March.
"According to our assumptions and calculations, there will be a turnover of GEL 2 billion on foreign websites, this amount is quite high. This includes young people under the age of 25 and the population whose access has been restricted. As for the budget revenues, there is a significant decrease in taxes.
If we consider everything in a complex way, it is quite a big loss not only for the gambling business but also for the accompanying businesses, including the advertising market, which lost GEL 400 million per year. Any indicator should be discussed in a complex way. The state has suffered in total. Taxes in the direction of sports decreased by 15-16%", - Mamulaishvili said.
