/Tomorrow's future of Georgia is in your hands - we have to decide if Georgia will be a truly independent, European, free and democratic country or if it will return to the uncertain past, Russia and its influence, where you and your children will not want to return, - this is how Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili addresses the Georgian living abroad immigrants.
As the President notes in her video address to the emigrants, the October 26 elections are decisive, and therefore the participation of the diaspora in it is important.
"I am addressing you, members of the diaspora, my compatriots. I want to tell you that tomorrow's future of Georgia is in your hands. In your hands, in my hands, in our hands. We have to decide whether Georgia will be a truly independent, European, free and democratic country or return to the uncertain past, Russia and its influence, where you and your children probably will not come, will not return and will not want to return. This election is crucial and you must participate. I know how difficult it was to participate, unfortunately, the districts were not opened for us, but despite this, I know that you are ready to actively participate. Just as you came out yesterday and cheered our football players, crossed the borders, came down to display the Georgian flag, I also know that on October 26, wherever it is, even if it is far [the electoral district], you will show solidarity with each other and we will all stand there together. Where lies the future of Georgia!", the President said in her address.
