Woodhouse Lagodekhi had a relatively slow summer, with co-founder Anano Sikmashvili reporting a noticeable decline in visitors compared with last year. Both domestic and international tourist flows decreased.

Sikmashvili attributes the decline to several factors, including Georgia’s political situation and rainy weather. She says some foreign visitors avoided traveling to Georgia due to safety concerns, while bad weather also led to booking cancellations.

International tourists still visited Kakheti, mainly from Saudi Arabia, the UK, the US and Europe. However, the hotel has received only a few advance bookings for the autumn grape harvest season, despite continued interest in wine-related activities.

Sikmashvili says Kakheti has greater tourism potential, but infrastructure, particularly around Lagodekhi Nature Reserve, needs further development to attract more visitors. Woodhouse Lagodekhi also continues to introduce new offerings based on guest feedback.
