Tea producer company Renegade Tea Estate plans to start free self-guided tours, - Kristiina Mehik, co-founder of the company told BMG. According to her, the facilities will be ready from May to receive guests.

“We have provided regular guided tours on our farm for the last 3 years and have welcomed guests from many different countries, for example, Germany, Poland, South-Korea, USA and more. This summer we will also have something new – free self-guided tours! Everyone can stop by at the plantation and take a look at how tea is grown and produced, walk on a pathway around the plantation and taste some tea as well”, - said Kristiina.

Renegade Tea Estate is a tea plant operating in Georgian municipality of Tskaltubo from 2017 and produces and sells the tea in 40 countries.

“We export almost all of our production, 98%. It will be more or less the same this year, but hopefully, we’ll also be able to offer our products a bit more on the local market as well. Our main market is Germany, followed by Estonia and the United States. In total, we export to over 40 different countries around the world, from New Zealand to Norway”, - said Kristiina.

Renegade Tea plantations increase production capacity each year. Last year their production amounted 3000 kg of high-quality tea. During the harvesting season, the company employs over 35-40 locals from nearby villages. With the factory workers and office staff, Renegade Tea in total, has around 50 employees.

Estonian partners began tea production in Georgia seven years ago, investing approximately 1 million EUR into the project.
