At the Berliner Wein Trophy 2026, three wines from Gonadze Winery – Aleksandrouli, Khvanchkara, and Racha – won gold medals.
"This victory is another international recognition of our team's hard work, the unique terroir of Racha, and the traditions of Georgian winemaking. Thank you to everyone who shares our journey and contributes to promoting Georgian wine. Congratulations to all on this significant success," the company stated.
Gonadze Winery is located in Racha and has been operating its business since 2000. The family estate manages 30 hectares of vineyards located in the villages of Bugeuli and Jvarisa within the Ambrolauri municipality. In 2016, the vineyard owners established the agricultural cooperative Alvazi.
The Berliner Wein Trophy is one of the world's largest and most prestigious international wine competitions, held in Germany. The event takes place under the patronage of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the International Union of Enologists (UIOE).
Each year, more than 14,000 wine samples from dozens of countries around the world are presented at the competition, evaluated by an expert international jury.
In accordance with strict OIV rules, a maximum of 30% of the wines entered in the competition are awarded medals, which gives this honor exceptional value and recognition.
