In the first quarter of 2024, the number of tourists arriving in Armenia decreased by 3.2% compared to the same period last year. This is stated in the monthly economic development review of Armenia, published by the World Bank.
Despite the fact that 42.3% of tourists continued to come from Russia, their number decreased by 21.9% compared to the first quarter of 2023.
At the same time, there has been a significant increase in the number of tourists from other countries. The number of visitors from India increased by 174%, from the Philippines by 57%, from Iran by 33%, and from Georgia by 16% compared to the first quarter of last year.
Earlier, BMG reported that in April 2024, the tourist flow to Armenia decreased by 8.8%, amounting to 163,970 tourists.
